Introducing the Class of 2025

Kindergarten registration was this weekend and Nico had fun with friends, but it was a bittersweet moment for me that my only child is starting kindergarten. I love that he is growing up and we have SO many memories and have had so much fun, but it went WAY to fast and before we know it I'll be waving good-bye on the first day of school.....better stock up on Kleenex now!

Mixed Emotions

As some of you know we have our house currently up for sale, and we know in our hearts this is the right thing for our family to do but it's just harder then I ever thought it would be. I mean it's just a house, right? Wrong?!??! What I have learned it's more than a house it's a home filled with memories that will never be forgotten. It's the house where we lived for over 8 years most of our married life, the home where we brought our only son home from the hospital....the only home he has known for the past 5 years....the house where we prepared the nursery and transitioned it to his big boy room....and had so many projects as a family where we made it our own.

I know in my heart "Home is Where the Heart is", but it doesn't make it any easier and I know after we sell our home....hopefully....and move all our possessions and start creating new memories it will just be a house to us again. One we drive by and realize it's someone else's "home" and maybe I sound like I don't think we are making the right decision....I know in my heart we are. Any changes are scary and I am trying to get excited but every time someone else walks through house I think this could be there "home" soon....

Maybe another reason is that everything we have found online doesn't compare to what I feel I already have and I am hoping as my realtor told us when you walk through the door, you just know....so I am trying to feed on that excitement and hoping we find that perfect place soon or that I can talk Daddy into considering building our dream home......

I am sure everyone has gone through this over the years and I guess I didn't feel the attachment to our first house as I do now because I couldn't wait to let the door slam behind me.....but I know this is a New Chapter in our lives that is the best for us, but right now that doesn't make it any easier and my mixed emotions are getting the best of me.

Fingers and Toes Crossed my friends and family that someone walks through our front door and finds their Home as we did over 8 years ago......

So Many Years So Many Memories

Happy 13th Anniversary to Us!

Flash back to January 8th & 9th, 1999....I wished for a little snow, but it ended up freezing and an ice storm the night of the rehearsal dinner....everyone showed up but it was touch and go for quite a while. Us girls had made appointments to get our hair done the next day...I spent the night with my cousin Julie and everyone but us cancelled their appointment because of the weather....wedding was to begin at 3:30PM on the 9th and for some dumb reason Daddy thought it was funny to get stone cold drunk the night before...another day another story...thank you very much Uncle Eric......finally we got to the Church and we all arrived safely and the ceremony began....to me it was one of those moments you don't really remember, but you'll never forget...I remember walking down the aisle with my Dad and I remember going through the motions but in between is a bit blurry...old age sucks! As most who were there it was a great party that ended with Uncle Eric carrying me out to the car, which I don't remember....again another story for another day....As I think about it now I can't believe 13 years have flashed by just like it was last week.....it's unreal.

What's truly amazing is going through all the pictures and all the important people in our wedding or in attendance we still keep in contact with....we have the same group of friends we have had since we were teenagers and who can say I remember that day....and even though we have made new friends who are equally important it's wonderful to know that all of you, our family and friends who are near and dear to our hearts are part of us....who have been through it all with us....and know we love you more as each year passes.

Out of all the things we have done over the last 13 years, Nico has to be the best....he is the world to both of us....he is that piece of the puzzle that was always missing and completes both of us....someone when even the worst of days can make you smile and realize whatever was wrong wasn't that bad....as it's hard to believe 13 years have passed....it's even harder to believe this Fall our little Angel is starting school....wasn't it just yesterday we were bringing him home?

We love you to the Moon and Back Little Man!

It's been fun reminiscing, but it's all so exciting to think what the years ahead have in store for us. There are a lot of changes for our family in the works and we can't wait to see how it all turns out, but I know one thing for sure it's been a great 13 years and I can't wait to see what the next 50 brings us!

Family Traditions

Cookie Day 2011

Every year my Aunts, Cousins and Kids all get together for Family Cookie Day at Aunt Pam's. It's a day filled with Christmas Music, cookie dough and trying not to burn the cookies. You don't realize how important these days are when you are Nico's age, but as I get older I do appreciate spending time with my family and all the fun and laughter we have. One day I hope Nico will realize how special it is to have such a loving, large family to spend the Christmas Holiday with.

Believe it or not this is not even close to being all of us.....On this side of the family we were counting and I think we have close to 55+ with Grandma Eaver having 6 Girls, the Girls had a total of 15 Grandchildren and the Grandchildren having 19 Great-Grandchildren, plus husbands......and more in the future I am sure!!!

Now readers, don't get excited....not with me of course but I am sure my cousins will have more babies to love.

It was a great time swimming, sliding and being lazy....Great Wolf is a great indoor waterpark that is age appropriate for toddlers to pre-teens and for us "old" folk who want to have some water fun! Although Nico went down the big slides only three times it was well worth the fun without the sun because it's always 84 degrees at Great Wolf WaterPark!

Best Friends: Twenty Years Later

Flashback to 1991......going to band thinking is it time to go home yet, and getting to sit next to a new girl who would forever change my life....I mean at 13 we all know what life is about, right?? It was the days of boys, makeup, clothes, football games and dances.....how those were the days and if only we could go back in time and slap ourselves for being over dramatic over nothing....but I regress....

How many people can say they have had the same best friend for over twenty years....and it all began with the slamming of the door....remember Ter, so many years ago that seems like yesterday....

You see Ter and I have been through it all....and even had rough patches throughout the years but no matter the reason we have always stuck it out because it seems that this is a once in a lifetime shot someone who will always pick me up when I fall and be there even if I call her at 3am and need a ride.....

There are so many memories and not enough blog entries to cover it but from starting HS, boyfriends,HS graduation, to our College years, to marriage, me moving away, kids on the way, houses bought, kids recitals and plays, loss of loved ones, trips taken, holidays celebrated and so much more......

No matter how long we have gone from seeing each other or talking or new friends are made...we will always be there for each other and no matter how crazy it sounds we will always be Best Friends Forever....like our necklaces said so many years ago.

Happy 20 years Terri....can't wait to see what trouble we can get into the next 50 years or more.......

'Tis the Season to be Thankful

As Thanksgiving approaches us, I was sitting here thinking how Thankful I really should be for all the blessings God has given us over this past year and years past.

I am truly thankful for my boys.....both who I love and adore more than life itself. We have had so many opportunities this year to spend so much time together....living, loving and laughing.

Nico has been a joy in our lives and we are so thankful for the years we have had with him and can't wait to see what the rest of his life holds. We are definitely thankful we have been blessed with him in our lives.

Daddy is the best Daddy in the world, I am so thankful and blessed he loves us more than anything in this world. The last 15 years, almost 16 years together has been the best of my life and I can't imagine raising our almost "perfect" son with anyone else.

Our family is next on my list....so many of you and you can't imagine how grateful we are to have each and everyone of you in our lives. Although sometimes life is a challenge we are all bound to each other in one way or another, and without all of you, our lives would not be complete. We love you all unconditionally and are grateful to go through our lives adventures with you.

Our Friends....so many of you who have been near and dear to us and have gotten us through the roughest times in our lives....we love you more than just friends, but family. No words can explain how near and dear to our hearts all of you are.

Athena, our puppy....I know it may sound silly to some of you, but she has been with us for almost 12 years and has been through our rough ride and no matter the day we have had we come home to unconditional love.....that's something that always puts a smile on our faces.

Our Health....we all take advantage of it, but until you have face a problem you don't realize how lucky we all are. Although it's been a challenge these past years.....we are definitely grateful in the end of how healthy we really are.

Our list could go on and on, but simply we are thankful for all those people in our lives and if it seems we don't say we love you enough, we do and you are always in our hearts no matter how far you live.

Flash Back

I had one of those moments when Nico's life just flashed by me.......this reminds me how fast time is flying by and how big he is getting. He is 5 already, how did that happen?? Wasn't it just yesterday we were painting his room and getting ready for him to be born??? It's been a great adventure and I wouldn't take a minute back, but it makes me realize that in the hustle and bustle of our lives we need to take a step back and really enjoy each and every memory.....because before you know it we'll be packing his bags for college.

Totally freaking out right now......does anyone else have moments like this or am I crazy??

Dear Nico,

Happy 5th Birthday! I know what you are thinking....not another letter Mommy, but one day you will hopefully reflect back on these letters and scrapbooks to know how much we love you and have loved watching you grow into the little man you have become.

It's been such a fun year, you have been on so many adventures.....starting the year off with our Vacation to Mexico on what you called the Cruise Ship....it wasn't a Cruise we went on.....it was a Cruise Ship. We had so much fun and it is so great to be able to do all these fun things with you, but the best part about it was spending time with family. Whether you realize it or not, your family loves you more than anything and it's great that there are so many who everyday love you more and more, and even though you may not realize it now...that's one of the most important things in life.

Not only did you get to go on a Cruise at 4......we went our Beach vacation to Myrtle Beach and how things have changes since the first time you were at the Ocean....you loved it and kept going out for more bathing suit or clothes, you just wanted to be in the water! It was great to watch Daddy give you more confidence to learn to finally SWIM and you passed Pike....we are so proud of you and celebrated with Ice Cream!!!

Also this year, you played T-Ball for the first time and Soccer which has been so much fun to see how you have matured and are turning into a little team player. What's so special about you is that you don't want to take something from someone....and are so passive that you will run with the team but take the soccer ball from someone....not a chance....at least not yet.

We are so proud of your accomplishments this year, learning to write, learning to spell...a few words, the value of coins, your address, phone numbers, and you’re favorite past time these days the IPad....who would of thought you at 4 years old would be able to work it better than Mommy. I am sure that I have forgotten so many things, but we just want you to know that we are so proud of you and the Little Man you have become. You show us every day how sweet and innocent you are to us and everyone around you.

So today we celebrate you and know that we love you more than life itself. You are the best thing that has ever happened to us and we can't wait to see what next year’s adventures bring!

Nico started t-ball this month and it has definitely been an experience. We have had so much fun hitting the ball, trying to catch the balls, and running around the bases. Although I am not sure he gets the concept yet, he is sure having fun making new friends and hopefully learning the basics of t-ball. Hopefully by next year he'll be ready to really learn the basics of baseball!!!

Sisterly Love!

Nico and I drove to North Carolina a couple of weekends ago to visit family. It was a great time celebrating the girls birthday's and seeing them for the first time in over 2 years!!! Nico loved being with his cousins and especially swimming in Aunt Andi's pool! He is such a fish and has no fear which is good, but can be scary too!

Hopefully there will be more weekends like these spending time with family and enjoying the beautiful sunshine of Summer!!!

Canoe Days

I know I am a little behind but I am trying to catch up...it was a beautiful day on the Canal to take a canoe ride. Now I am not very adventureous but I am always willing to try something once. We asked my cousin Julie and her boyfriend Matt to come with us and we had a great time. Nico wasn't so sure about the canoe at first but about halfway through he wanted to help Daddy paddle!! We were laughing as I paddled for a just a few minutes and Julie asked why I wasn't helping......my response....."after 15 years I don't have to paddle anymore." We laughed and Daddy of course just rolled his eyes and kept paddling!!!

It was another summer adventure for the record books!!! Definitely something we will be enjoying again and afterwards we all got ice cream! I love days like these!!!

We had a great day on Mother's Day at the Cleveland Zoo, although it was VERY crowded, we parked and spent a few hours going around the Zoo. It was a great day and although we didn't make it through the entire Zoo spending the day with my two favorite boys is always a blast!!!!

The new Elephant Exhibit was awesome and one of these days we'll go back when it's less crowded so we can truly enjoy their beauty!

Look Daddy, I have my own radio!

Back in April, Gma Beth & Gpa Tim took Nico and Daddy on a train ride where he learned how to move freight cars and drove the train. It was a great day by the biggest train lover I know, he was on cloud nine for the rest of the day!

Today we received Nico's end of the year Progress report from Pre-School. We still have some things to work on but mostly he received G's, which is Good Progress. We are so proud of our little man who is growing up way to fast before our eyes! We love you Nicolas Aaron!!!!

Pentagon Memorial

Washington, DC

This Memorial was something that even almost 10 years later hit hard and opened a wound that I didn't know was still not healed. When April and I walked past the Pentagon to the Memorial next door, it was a peaceful and quiet place where it honored those who lost their lives that day at the Pentagon. A place for family and friends to say goodbye to the one's they lost and for all of us to pay respects for those Hero's who tragically lost their lives on September 11, 2001.

To me, it was one of those surreal moments in your life as it was when April and I visited the Flight 93 Memorial last year. You can read about our experiences Here. We can just thank God for allowing us to live our lives and say a prayer for the families and those who lost their lives that day.

**Sidenote***

When they say do not take photographs of the Pentagon Building they are very serious, some people found out very quickly. It wasn't us don't worry.

Weather

The weather has been crazy here lately. It seems like it has been raining for months and the warnings of flooding and possible tornadoes is just unreal to me this year. We have been very lucky here, but the people in Georgia, and especially Alabama have been hit so hard this past week. From what I have read and seen online towns are gone, right now the death toll is over 300 and it is rising everyday. Looking at the pictures it makes me want to cry....

Hug your families a little tighter and pray for those who have lost their lives to this terrible stormy season. I just hope these towns and families can come together to pick up the pieces and have faith that there is help on the way.

Georgetown Cupcakes!!!!!

Our first trip we only waited in line for less than a half an hour!!!

yes we waited 2 hours and yes the line was a block or more long!!!

We were so excited....that I got off the plane, put my luggage in her car, and we were off to find Georgetown Cupcakes!!!! We couldn't wait to have our first delicious bite, but since my plane landed at 7:30AM and they didn't open until 10AM we headed to the Metro and got our passes for the weekend and started our way to Georgetown in DC. It was funny because we had to ride a public bus from the Metro, and I was very skeptical.......I told April, "we don't ride public buses here", but April assured me it would be OK and we were off for our first adventure of Girl's Weekend!!!! Since we were still early, we walked around Georgetown and got acclimated to the area and before we knew it, it was time to get in line! Luckily since it was Friday there were only about 6 people in line, but as we waited our 15 mins or so it filled up QUICKLY!!!!! Once the girl at the door let us in we were amazed by the smells and sounds of the shop, and truly how fluid they ran their operation. We ordered our amazing cupcakes and had a seat to see Sophie sitting by the window in the back!!! It was a wonderful experience, one of many that April and I will never forget!

It was everything I imagined it to be and more, and to experience it with April who started out as a penpal, but turned into an amazing friend for life!!!

Nico and I went with our friends, Vicky & Dash to a fun place in Medina called Amazone! It was a Jungle (literally) Gym where the kids could run around, slide, hang from stuff and just be kids. It was really crowded and I followed Nico all around the Gym so of course I was exhausted, but at the end of the day it was all FUN! We can't wait for another fun day very soon!

Girls Weekend

Before I fell in love with Facebook there was a website for Mommy's called Cafe Mom that I cam across which had groups you could join. I found one called Pen Pals, and I thought this should be interesting as I had a Pen Pal from France in High School and loved writing back and forth. So I thought what the heck.....and that's where I met my now good friend, April who lives near DC.

We started writing back and forth through email and then while in Washington DC for our 2009 vacation we met. Don't think I meet friends all the time online, I really don't but April is different we have a lot in common and she keeps me sane even though it's through email and texting. She is very special to me, and I am so glad I took the leap and decided to write her and she decided to write me back!

So last year we decided we were going to have Girl's Weekend and met in Somerset, PA....which is the where the site for the Flight 93 Memorial is located....and as we found is the only exciting thing in Somerset!!! Even though it was only a 2 day trip we had a blast and decided this was something we were definitely going to do again....which brings me to this year's trip.

Since April lives 30 minutes from Washington DC and I LOVE DC, I decided to book a flight and we are having our 2011 Girls Weekend in DC!!!!!!!!!

Since I am a Food Network Junkie, one place we have to go is Georgetown Cupcakes and if you have ever watched DC Cupcakes you know what I am talking about. Who wouldn't want one or two or a dozen of these delicious cupcakes......my mouth is watering just thinking about it.....

I can't wait!!! Since we saw the Flight 93 Memorial, and are in DC this year we are going to try to find the Pentagon Memorial and the Cherry Blossom's are hopefully still in bloom...something April says is awesome to see. Plus all the other fun stuff do eat and do in DC!!!!!

So the countdown has begun....and now it's just counting down the days until.....

Liar, Liar

No one told me being Mommy was going to be the hardest, but most rewarding job in the world. Yesterday and today was one of those moments when you think....where did I go wrong?

Let's go back.....since we got back from our Vacation and Nico spent an entire 9 days with us by sleeping, eating and enjoying every minute but we were together all the time. It was a great 9 days, one that will never be forgotten but it has caused him to have problems when we leave him somewhere or he has to go to bed. The transition of our normal routine was about a week, he fought it but we thought everything was back to normal....or so we thought.

The last couple of weeks, Nico has not wanted to go to Pre-School he would make every excuse in the book from "I don't feel good" to "I am too tired" but we just told him he had to go and that we were not negotiating. My favorite line to him is "when you are 32, you can stay up or not go to school but since you are 4, Mommy and Daddy get to tell you what to do." Which ends up with him looking at me strange and walking away....probably thinking I am a crazy person!

The end of last week he didn't have to go to school because of snow days but as we talked about school again he started with the excuses....but what caught me off guard was when he said "Mommy I am scared to go to school, Matthew (name changed) hits me", and my first thought was Nico do you tell the teacher, why is hitting you, really he is hitting you? All those things go through a Mother's head and I said "Nico, Matthew is hitting you? Did you tell your teacher?" And he looked at me and said "No Mommy" and so we had that discussion of why he didn't tell her and if he is really hitting you, it's OK to tell her. This broke my heart to think that my child is being hit at school at the age of 4, but I was very cautious to think that he is being hurt and no one noticed.

So Daddy and I discussed it and we decided to talk to the teacher to see what was going on and explained to Nico that we were going to talk to his teacher. So today on the way to school Nico says, "Daddy, don't talk to my teacher, Matthew doesn't hit me." Now I am thinking, seriously Nico how could you lie about something like that after last week we had the discussion about lying when we asked you a question we knew the answer too. I know he is only four years old but he knows the difference between right and wrong, and we just had this conversation about lying.....how could you lie about someone hitting you Nico????

So here I am mortified that we were going to even put the thought in Nico's teacher head that that child was hitting our son, when in all reality all he was trying to do was get out of school. I don't understand and I don't want to dwell on it, but how do you deal with a child who is only four years old and starting to lie about another child hitting them???

This is not one of my better Mommy moments and I feel like I have failed somehow and how do you sit down with a 4 year old and explain lying? We are honest people and we like to think we don't lie but I don't know where he could possibly have come up with such a big lie? His teacher stated that kids just go through these phases and I am sure they do but this is something that I want to nip now before it gets out of control.....

Any ideas on how to explain lying to a 4 year old?

It's a sad day for the Law Enforcement Community, Capt. Dan Stiles of the Uniontown Police Department was killed today in the line of duty. He was struck by a car while directing traffic at an intersection and passed away at the hospital. He left behind a wife and 3 children.

The Fun Continues

We had a fun day out at sea, when we woke up on Sunday it was really windy but the air was warm so we relaxed, kept eating until we couldn't eat anymore, explored the ship and hung out with Family. Daddy and Nico decided it would be fun to try out the pool....but what Daddy found out is that salt water from Tampa isn't very warm. We finished our evening with another Fantastic dinner, and ended our night with a drink with everyone in one of the many lounges.

Making a Build-A-Dog

We continued on to Grand Cayman Island where we had to take a small boat from our ship to the island. Of course the first thing you see is all the shops and restaurants. We walked around for a while and then took a bus to the beach. It was BEAUTIFUL, the sun was shining and the breeze was perfect, and we could see our feet in the WATER!!!!

Our final Port was Cozumel, Mexico and it was just as beautiful as the Grand Cayman's. Although this time we got to watch the ship park at Port, it was amazing how they can get the HUGE ship into such a small area. We spent the day holding Iguana's and playing at the beach, which was just as beautiful as the day before. Daddy snorkeled and had a great time, while Nico and Mommy played in the water and sand. It was another great day that ended with another fantastic dinner!

The final days at sea we had beautiful weather. It rained once in the morning but it was short lived and the sun came out shining bright! Our last day out at sea, we played in the Water Park that was on board. Nico loved the small slide, where Daddy braved the big water slide that looked like something out of a water park back home.

Although we were sad to leave the ship, it was a great time spent with family and definitely something none of us will ever forget. Nico's already asking when we can go on the big ship again!!!!

We arrived at our port around 11am and had to take back the rental cars and drop off our bags. Once everyone was together we stood in line, and stood in line some more until finally it was time to get our picture taken for our card. As we boarded the ship we were amazed by how big it was and how much food!!! Food was EVERYWHERE!!!!! We ate, drank and finally our suitcases were at our rooms. We started to get comfortable with our home for the next 5 days and couldn't wait to set sail!!!

Before we knew it we were on our way and it was time to get ready for our first formal dinner, and I have to that was one of the best parts as our waiter was awesome as well as his assistant. After dinner we roamed around and after a long day, we went back to our room and crashed.

Our first day of vacation started out right with sunny skies and 70 degree temperatures, we couldn't of asked for more. Everything went smoothly and we made it to Aunt Patty's without any hassles. Friday was spent with our Florida family and friends, and getting ready to get on our Cruise the next day. It was great to put on shorts and be able to be barefoot again!!!!

Disney On Ice: Toy Story 3

We had so much fun on Friday night at the Q watching Toy Story 3 on Ice! It was an adorable version of all three movies and they did a great job recreating the stories on ice. Nico now has to have Slinky the Dog toy, but instead of buying it we have decided to make it a reward for learning to write NICO. So far he has really tried hard, but the thing that is giving him the most trouble is the N.....but hopefully soon we'll have a Slinky the Dog at our house!!!

New Year's Eve 2010

We had so much fun this year on New Year's, Nico had his neighborhood friends over to play for a New Year's Eve kids party. We ate too much, played too hard, and watched to much TV but the three kids had a great New Years. They even stayed up until Midnight to watch the ball drop and we toasted into 2011! Of course the kids had sparkling grape juice and looked at all of us like we were crazy when we showed them what toasting was, but it definitely was a memory we'll never forget.

Christmas Recap

Alliance Park, lit up!

On the Thursday before Christmas, after work we decided to go to Alliance Park to see the lights and we got a special treat....Santa was there!!!! You get to drive through the park and look at all the cute lights as many times as you want. This is the second year we have gone, and Nico loves it!!!

After the Park Lights, we went home and celebrated Christmas Eve traditions of opening Nico's new Christmas jammies and a new movie The Polar Express!!! Since Daddy had to work on Christmas Eve, we wanted to make sure he was in on all the festivities he could. Of course some traditions had to be missed....tracking Santa, Santa's Email to Nico and putting out cookies for Santa.....we were glad to have Daddy home for most of it.

Nico's Christmas Program

What a great way to continue our Christmas Spirit with Nico's Christmas Program at his Pre-School. He was way too adorable standing next to a little girl who was holding Baby Jesus. They sang 3 song and the only one he kept singing at home was Jingle Bells, and I was taping the others so with the clapping it was hard to tell, but if you go to my Facebook Page you can watch his videos. After the program, we went downstairs to have Cookies and Punch, it was a great night and Nico had a blast with all his Pre-School Friends...and he even sang this year!!!!

Christmas 2010 Recap

Family Christmas Parties

Our first Christmas gathering of 2010 was at my Aunt Pam's house. It was full of fun, family, too much food and Christmas spirit. I definitely ate to much and poor Daddy had to work so he missed out on all the fun. Nico was pooped out by the time we go home, but definitely sugared up! Who could resist all the cookies we made on Cookie Day???

On Sunday we went to our next stop at Daddy's family at Grandma & Grandpa Decker's. It was another fun filled family day! This time Daddy still had to work but he stopped by to eat, which is always a treat! Nico was pretty excited but Daddy had to get back to work before presents...duty calls.

Sad....

My friend Michele's 12 year old Dalmatian was diagnosed with Bone Cancer yesterday. They have had Tigger since he was a puppy, and he is their only "child". Like all animal lovers and having an almost 11 year puppy myself, this breaks my heart.

Please say a Prayer for Michele and Pete as this is a very sad time for them. I just hope they have more time with their beloved dog, Tigger.

A legacy is born

During the American Revolution, many important political discussions took place in the inns and taverns of Philadelphia, including the founding of the Marine Corps. A committee of the Continental Congress met at Tun Tavern to draft a resolution calling for two battalions of Marines able to fight for independence at sea and on shore. The resolution was approved on November 10, 1775, officially forming the Continental Marines. As the first order of business, Samuel Nicholas became Commandant of the newly formed Marines. Tun Tavern’s owner and popular patriot, Robert Mullan, became his first captain and recruiter. They began gathering support and were ready for action by early 1776. Each year, the Marine Corps marks November 10th with a celebration of the brave spirit which compelled these men and thousands since to defend our country as United States Marines.

Since 1996 when Daddy joined the Marine Corp this has been a day when he wakes up and tells me to tell him "Happy Birthday" and he gets calls and texts throughout the day of those who he has served with, and those who remember what day it is. It's a day that is remembered in our home even though it's been over 10 years of not being on active duty....as they say, "Once a Marine always a Marine."

PUMPKIN PATCH 2010

One of the traditions we have done since Nico was 1, has been to go to a Pumpkin Patch to have Nico pick out a pumpkin. This year was no exception, we went to their petting zoo, took a train ride, played in the corn, and went through the maze. It was a fun night for all....except that it was 35 degrees out....and of course Daddy's pumpkin was three times as big as Nico's but it was adorable watching my little guy pick out the perfect pumpkin, and what a perfect pumpkin it was!!!
